«inside out 2». The first animated film to make a billion dollars globally
The animated film "Inside Out 2" joined the billion-dollar club, in a new achievement achieved by this film, which began showing in various cinemas about two months ago.
Inside Out 2 became one of 12 releases and the only animated film to achieve this desirable feat, although 55 films made a billion dollars globally from domestic and international ticket sales, only ten films managed to reach this standard from foreign markets alone, 11 of which were live films.
While Disney's 2019 film "The Lion King" grossed $1.1 billion internationally, it was classified as a live movie, not a computer-produced one. So, "Inside Out 2," technically, is the first animated film to join the billion-dollar club.
Although this figure suggests that Inside Out 2 has resonated almost everywhere, the main foreign markets from which it received the most revenue came from Mexico ($102.2 million), Brazil ($80 million), the United Kingdom ($72.7 million), France ($62.6 million), and Korea ($60.8 million).
Disney's "Inside Out 2" grossed $1.649 billion globally, including $1.002 billion abroad and $646.3 million at home, the highest-grossing this year. A few weeks ago, "Inside Out 2" beat "Frozen II," earning the title of the highest-grossing animated film in history.
This summer, Disney lived its glory, especially since it released two films, joining the billion-dollar club, besides "Inside Out 2", "Deadpool & Wolverine" also received this honor, although it was classified as category (R), which limited its audience to be 18 years older, and older.
"Deadpool & Wolverine" became the eighth-grossing film in the Marvel universe with $1.21 billion, surpassing "Captain America: Civil War," which grossed $1.155 billion. It is expected to soon overtake the Iron Man 3, which has revenues of $1.215 billion, to take seventh place.
The idea behind "Inside Out" revolves around a girl in Minnesota, named Brailley. At the moment of her birth, five main emotions were born in her head: joy, sadness, disgust, fear, and anger, to live in her head and control her consciousness.
